This video is from the Monroe, NC Police Department this past weekend as they hosted the NC Law Enforcement 5K torch Run. A fun event that benefitted the Special Olympics.

Operation Crackdown 2009 in Monroe, NC.
I was thrilled to be invited to drive along with the Monroe, NC Police on a roundup of outstanding warrants known as Operation Crackdown. I was invited as the media to bring my video camera and shoot what I saw. there were no restrictions placed on me. I had a great time riding and busting the bad guys. Here is how the day went down.

Union County, NC Motorcycle Classic
This is basically a slideshow put to video. I put a couple of clips of video into this. I shot this last weekend in Union County, NC. Downtown Monroe to be specific. It's the first time I've seen this many motorcycles in Monroe. I hope you enjoy it. I've got some cool tunes with it.

Union West Rotary Golf Tournament
This is a video slideshow I made for my wife's Rotary. What is cool about this, is the fact that I was not there but took my wife's photos and composed the video. This is what I do as a hyperlocal blogger in Monroe, NC. If you are considering going hyperlocal, events like this are what you want to cover. The main media could care less about such an event but these folks love to see themselves on the internet.

Monroe, NC. One Mile At A Time
Today I left the house and stopped at the local Starbucks. For some reason, when I left, I decided I would stop every mile for a while to see if I could photograph anything interesting. My rule was simple. Set the odometer and stop as close as possible to every mile. Get out and walk a very minimal distance and try to snap a photo of something interesting. I drove around my hometown randomly. Here is the result.

Hockey Championship at Extreme Ice in Indian Trail, NC
Extreme Ice recently hosted the 12 and Under national Championship in Indian Trail, NC. I shot this video of the championship. It was a little difficult to put together because everything inside is so white. I had to do some color corrections but I think it turned out ok. What do you think?
